The best thing to do on Stromboli is, without a doubt, the sunset hike. I joined a guided tour and wouldn’t do it any other way, the guides are incredibly knowledgeable, and hiking the volcano independently is not allowed. The trail offers breathtaking views over the sea and the crater, but the real magic happens after sunset. As darkness falls, the volcano comes alive. Watching glowing lava burst from the crater against the night sky remains one of my most unforgettable travel memories. 🌠
