I did the "O" Trek, which connects with the W Trek for the second half. Here are my tips for places to stop and camping options. Keep in mind this is for backpacking and the basic options! There are more refugio and excursion options than what's in here, but this is a great starting point!

Torres del Paine National Park
You will take a boat across the lake to start the trek (if this is the direction you choose. It is possible to start at Camping Central as well) to reach the campground. It is the first campground that links with the O Trek. It's busy but has food options, campsites, and a refugio.
At Paine Grande, you will be staying on the shores of Lago Pehoé. The sunsets and sunrises here are dreamy.
This is a great spot to stop for a sip and a snack before you arrive at the Mirador Británico.
Hike 6.4 miles up a steep gradient to this incredible lookout that offers a breathtaking view of all the surrounding Chilean mountains of TDP on truly special clear day!
Closer to the miradores, but more forested and busier campgrounds. It depends on what you and your crew want to hike on the next day because passing this up to get to Cuernos definitely hurt, LOL.
Definitely a trek. You'll pass by other refugios along the way. 15.8 miles will get you down to Cuernos, which is easily my favorite refugio. This quaint spot has a little bar and snack shop inside. Tents are placed on stilts and platforms amongst the rolling hills & trees near the coast of the lake. Truly so cozy!
From Cuernos to Chileno, the hike is 8 miles long. Chileno will put you at a better starting point for the Mirador Las Torres hike! It is small and you need to make reservations far in advance for this campground. There is a strict checkout time of 9 a.m. here. The hike is about 8.7 miles.
Another option is to camp at Central, which will make your trek up to Las Torres longer. They typically have more availability though. The hike is about 12 miles from here.
Hike up to Las Torres at sunrise for an unforgettable view of the famous towers as they glow in the morning light. It's the best way to end a successful W Trek!
Adding on an extra day and hiking from Paine Grande to Grey is an option for those who want a bit more time out here or to see the famous glacier. This refugio here is incredible and has a full-blown bar and restaurant making it totally worth it.
The views of Glacier Grey cannot be beaten. It is one of the largest in Patagonia.
Hike up to this mirador for incredible views of this famed glacier. Worth the extra steps!
