This is without a doubt the place to stay in Georgetown. It’s got an upscale boutique feel and sits along the water in Front Street. Curated by Jenny Keenan Design, the hotel is filled with moody jewel-tones and an eclectic mix of vintage and custom furnishings. It pays homage to the area’s rich history and 18th century architecture.
You have to take a stroll down Broad and the surrounding streets. The Southern homes here are so charming with large wrap around porches. You can park on a side street and then easily walk to the Harborwalk when you’re done.
Brookgreen Gardens is about 20 minutes up the road from Georgetown and worth the drive. It is stunning, particularly in the evening during their Night of a Thousand Candles program. In the summertime, they often have concerts and food trucks!
Head to the Kaminski House for a peak into 18th century life and architecture in this area. The home is well preserved and full of stories of the family who occupied it.
The Harbor walk is parallel to the main drag in Georgetown and is dotted with places to stop and shop, get ice cream or a beer. Beautiful views of the Winyah Bay!

The independent is a beautiful place to eat dinner. The service was great and we ended our meal with some decaf coffee, port, and chocolate cake.
Franks is perfect for lunch or happy hour. The crispy fried oysters and pear 75 cocktail are delicious.
Urban Brew is more than just a cafe with ample comfy seating. It’s also a fun boutique and consignment shop with local vendors.
