Hike the Black Balsam Knob summit which begins at The Art Loeb Trailhead. This is one of my all-time favorite hikes in Asheville. Free (but limited) parking is available, at milepost 420 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Before you go, check for trail updates and closures on the official Blue Ridge Parkway website.

The South Slope neighborhood in Nashville is known for having a brewery on every corner, so do a brew-hop! Buy tickets online to the Biltmore House. It's the largest home in America! The grounds, gardens, and trails located on the property are gorgeous and are great for a long walk/hike. If history's your thing, book a tour inside the home; if not, walking around the property is just as fun. After you check out the house and gardens, head to Antler Hill Village on the property for a free wine tasting at the winery.
