Picture
Caption: ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ We recently had to make the sad decision to cut down a beautiful but dying Oak tree in our yard. I've always wanted to make my own tree stump side table and this was my lucky opportunity to make one. In fact I now can make 60 tree stump side tables and fill the whole house with little tree stump side tables and even hand out little tree stump side tables as party favors at my daughter's birthday party.

You'll need to locate a tree stump. If you keep an eye out you might notice them along the side of the road. Any tree stump will do as long as it's had time to dry out after being cut down.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Decide if you want to remove the bark or leave it on. If it's starting to come off I would recommend removing it. To help this effort grab a hammer and a chisel and get to work. Depending on the type of wood you use the bark may be easy or a lot of work to remove.
