Picture
Caption: After driving through Seattle to the edge of Washington State, we hopped on a ferry to travel the rest of the way to Canada.
Picture
Caption: We watched Washington fade away.
Picture
Caption: And Victoria get closer.
Picture
Caption: We settled into our apartment with a fantastic view of the city.
Picture
Caption: We were greeted with fireworks which we watched from our balcony.
Picture
Caption: We went for a ride in a horse drawn carriage in order to seethe sights. A great way to get to know the city!
Picture
Caption: Later we went to the park where Mom showed off her hula hooping skills...
Picture
Caption: ...and Connor chased a peacock...
Picture
Picture
Caption: Our apartment was near The Empress Hotel, the premier spot in Victoria for High Tea and sculpted whale bushes.
Picture
Caption: While exploring... the Empress Hotel we discovered several totem poles. They seemed out of place with the over all decor of the hotel, but were a fascinating representation of the indigenous culture.
Picture
Caption: At Fisherman's Wharf we discovered a pirate ship. Connor and I each displayed our Whitworth pride.
Picture
Caption: Go Bucs!
Picture
Caption: They had giant ice cream cones, so you know I was happy. Of course then the ice cream slipped down the cone and it was a race against time.
Picture
Caption: Mom loves a good "head-in-a-hole" picture so we took this just to make her vacation complete. Arrrr!
Picture
Caption: We took a day trip to Butchart Gardens where we saw Arlo Guthrie perform live and had buckets of rain dump on us.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Caption: Then it was time to find our adventurous side for some zip lining!
Picture
Caption: We all had fun, but I think Mom really had a blast!
Picture
Caption: Flying High
Picture
Caption: Sooke Potholes We spent a day at the Sooke Potholes, large, crater like holes in the ground that created natural swimming pools of different depths. They would be perfect on a warm day. It was pretty cold outside but we couldn't resist the opportunity to jump in and swim!
Picture
Caption: We went whale watching and found a pod of orcas off the coast
Picture
Caption: Finally we spent a day exploring the city. Dad found a giant moose.
Picture
Caption: I found Sully from Monsters Inc.
Picture
Caption: Mom found a questionable new friend down by the wharf.
Picture
Caption: And Connor found a Wooly Mammoth!
Picture
Caption: Ok, that might have been at the natural history museum.
