In the spring of 1976 all of Washington's 197 peaks over 8000' were identified.
Rules were defined to distinguish individual summits, and the 100 highest were singled out for special attention.

There's a low 5th class rock scramble for 25ft that most take a rope and rock protection for. There are slings wrapped around a massive boulder for rappelling.
