Caption: Human, rod, and river, that's all. A crystal blue body of water cutting through the mountains above is the life source for this Alaskan treasure. Fly fishing is more than a sport or art, but is blend of these elements creating an intimate interaction with Mother Nature. The magic in this small river lies in its constant evolution. Starting the day where the river met the ocean, within hours of fishing up stream the entire landscape was freshly underwater. With no trails or no human imprint, we were consumed by this wild addiction. Brown bears standing up on all fours above the tall grasses to catch a glimpse to satisfy their curiosity, only further cemented my profound appreciation of the rivers significance. Continuing up river, the tidal zone ceded to a mossy rainforest overhead. With the rise of the tide, the day came to a close but my mind still remains walking up river following the footsteps of a brown bear.
