Caption: Last week saw the start of British Summer Time, and while we're a few months away from summer, it certainly feels like spring on Scotland's east coast. (Aside from the one day last week when we had sleet, that is.) You can sense the collective mood elevating at this time of year. People just seem... happier.
Caption: MONDAY My friend Stephanie @LifestyleEditor visited the #Project60 Beard exhibition at Somerset House, showcasing portraits by photographer Mr Elbank. She sent me the accompanying booklet that opens up to form this poster.
This cheered up my Monday.

Caption: TUESDAY I always admire this door when walking home from yoga, so I thought it was about time that I photographed it. Classic, handsome Georgian architecture.

Caption: WEDNESDAY In reality most of my days last week looked like this. At my desk, juggling work with a new blog design. Pan right in this photo and you'd find a bowl of granola. Last week was fuelled by endless bowls of granola and hummus. Though not together.

Caption: THURSDAY The sleet of Wednesday passed and the sun appeared so Harris and I took a walk through town to Stockbridge. This is St Bernard's Church, which dates from 1823.

Caption: FRIDAY We made the most of the long Easter weekend. Friday was grey and rainy, but when the rain cleared in the afternoon we escaped down the east coast to Tyninghame for a woodland and beach walk.

Caption: SATURDAY We drove out to West Lothian as Harris was having his spring strip - as in, we were visiting his groomer to have his winter coat hand-stripped. (It's a wirehaired dachshund thing.)
When we got home, Harris was tired. Some Saturdays are about fun and adventures. Some are about snuggling on the sofa.

Caption: SUNDAY We hadn't planned to go anywhere in particular on Sunday, but the sky was blue. Have you noticed how many decisions are based on the weather? That's Scotland for you.
We drove to St Andrews in Fife. These photos are from the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral, including the 33 metre high tower of St Rule's Church, which was built around 1130. It's believed that this landmark may have been a beacon for pilgrims heading for the shrine of St Andrew.
It's hard to wrap your head round that history... those centuries below your feet.
