Caption: Puglia is the heel to Italy’s infamous boot and home to some of the brightest seas, most diverse architecture, mouth-watering food and kindest people in all of Italy.
I spent 3 days with 4 friends in Puglia. I will show you the spots we visited in this story.
This trip felt like a long trip because we did and saw a lot. But we also had relaxed lunch and dinner breaks. And we even managed to fit in a lazy afternoon and early eve at the beach to enjoy the sun like an Italian:
Do you know the region Puglia? ‘Il dolce far niente’!

I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

Picture
Caption: Village Alberobello is ‘the trulli heaven’.
The trulli of Alberobello have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996.
A trullo (plural, trulli) is a traditional Apulian dry stone hut with a conical roof.
The domes of many trulli are painted with different symbols of mostly apotropaic (= defense against evil) nature.

Picture
Caption: Because of the rich Baroque architectural monuments found in the city, Lecce is commonly nicknamed "The Florence of the South" (without the crowd).

Caption: The city also has a long traditional affinity with Greek culture going back to its foundation; the Messapians who founded the city are said to have been Cretans.

Caption: These were the gorgeous spots we’ve been to: Polignano, Alberobello and Lecce. Add an afternoon and sunset at the beach (the Maledives of Italy) plus nightlife at Gallipoli (no footage - it was dark ;) and you’ll understand this was a trip to remember.
Not ready yet with my praises though...

but I would love to share some positive words and photo’s of Taviano and our hotel:
Great value for money!
The employees (especially the frontdesk), the styling and amenities were the best!
Thank you so much

Caption: LOCATION Taviano, the village of the hotel, is quiet. It’s a short drive away from the beaches at the westside of the heel and vibrant city Gallipoli. And about 30/ 40 minutes away from Lecce. You can get to Alberobello and Polignano a Mare within a 2 hour drive.

Caption: Resumé:
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed a mix of culture and relaxation. It is simply impossible to visit all points of interest in just 3 days. However, we got a quick and small bite of Puglia and it tasted delicious!

have to plan a new trip to
Puglia to experience other
places, like Matera,
Monopoli and Ostuni.
Ciao!
