This is the land of the immigrants.

Caption: The Land of the Immigrants Over 3 million residents of Lima have confirmed that they immigrated from other areas of Peru. That is over 36%. Why do they come?
I asked this question when I recently visited Lima. The answer I received... "For a better life for my children."
What an honorable journey. A parent giving up their future so their children could potentially have a better life. A family moving from rural Peru to a mountainside overlooking the cityscape so that their kids could one day live and work in the city.

But what these families are forced to do is immigrate close to the main city in hopes for a chance.
The hope of a city where everything would be better. A hope for a place where the struggle is absent and present is peace.
