Caption: I have an affinity for the goods that make for better adventures. Therefore, I thought I should pay homage and a visit to a few of the outfitters where I've picked up my favorite gear as I continue to travel with my summer playlist project, Cover of America.

Caption: There was no better outfitter to begin with than Westerlind, a little shop in SoHo where every NYC adventurer can go to find the staples they need to get out of the city. Westerlind was founded by Andrea Westerlind, an avid adventurer with an eye for clothing, accessories, and goods that make treks as fashionable as they are comfortable. Her shop on Spring Street is a modern and simplistic update to the classic outfitter and supply store.

Caption: Andrea was instrumental in bringing quality, technical outdoor gear to the fashion market when she launched Above Tree Line in partnership with Capsule. ATL is an international trade show which showcases pioneers of the outdoor apparel industry. The show encourages sustainability in the outdoor apparel industry by championing products with functionality, purpose, and good trekking in mind.

Caption: Westerlind, the shop, is nestled in NYC's SoHo neighborhood and carries the brands of which Andrea is most fond, as well as her own label by the same name. Every trek should include my favorite items: The Westerlind Felt Hat and her footwear collection based on the 1940's Navel Officer Derby Shoe. With an impressive collection of tools and utility items, Westerlind is a destination for all urban folk who need to gear up before they take off.
