Caption: It was October 12, a bright and blue-skied Saturday, and we made the most of the weather with a walk round St Baldred’s Cradle to Ravensheugh Sands. We’ve walked at Ravensheugh for years, but the first section, round St Baldred’s Cradle, has been a new variation for us this year, and it’s become a favourite walk. You start by heading through the woods, past the WW2 sea defences, to the rocky shore that looks out towards John Muir Country Park. It’s such a different shoreline to the pristine sands of Ravensheugh.
