Caption: I have been to NZ many times in the past. I lived on the South Island for 7 months in 2010/2011.
It's one of my favourite places on earth.. So when I was recently visiting family I did everything possible to get out on a Roadtrip to photograph this beautiful country again!

Caption: North island We spent nights in Ohakune, Inglewood and Wellington as we headed to the South Island from Auckland. The drive was beautiful, particularly the central plateau where these first images were shot. The Tongariro national park is sublime!

Caption: The South Island was my real goal of the trip. My memories of the island are incredible, so getting some photographs to remember it by was my mission! First stop South was Kaikoura before getting to Christchurch.

Caption: After visiting Christchurch and witnessing the rebuild of the city after the 2011 earthquake. It was time to motor south and go visit the Moeraki boulders before going to one of my favourite destinations, Queenstown.

Caption: I knew Queenstown would be hard to beat! I had spent numerous times there before and always loved it.
I had only spent 1 night in the past though at Lake Wanaka across the mountains, so this time I wanted to see more! I'm glad I did, it was rather beautiful and I now understand the hype!

Caption: Chilling out by the lake. Visiting the famed #thatwanakatree , climbing the Instagram selfie sensation spot Roys Peak and then jet boating and flying high into mount Aspiring national park. It's safe to say Wanaka was worth visiting! I now prefer it to Queenstown!
We only had 2 nights before we had to head north again unfortunately. But it did mean visiting Mount Cook and Lake Tekapo!

Caption: The weather didn't play ball, but it was still magnificent! My dream shots of Mt Cook will have to wait for another opportunity!
Arthurs Pass was the next destination as we quickly headed North back to Auckland.

Caption: The next 2 days were basically driving! A huge Roadtrip to get us back to Auckland before the rental car was due back!
We stopped in beautiful Picton In the Marlborough sounds before getting the ferry in the morning. Then an all day sail and drive got us to our final destination Lake Taupo, with just enough time to photograph Huka Falls.

Caption: I hope you liked my whirlwind trip around NZ! I would have loved longer, but don't you always?!!
It was a pleasure to revisit some of my favourite locations and add some new ones to my list.
Now sat at home in cold and rainy England I'm already getting itchy feet to travel again!
