Caption: compendium Montevecchio mining consists of several yards of extraction and processing of minerals, of a town, headquarters of the main services and offices of the leadership, and some workers' villages.
The mining exploited the eponymous Montevecchio vein: this rich sphalerite and galena, minerals that produces zinc and lead, respectively, is about twelve kilometers long. In the same vein also he insists the compendium mining Ingurtosu. The same compendium was also part of the mine Salaponi in Gonnosfanadiga.

Caption: Mining tourism Change
The Montevecchio mine, after years of restoration (by which he won the Eden 2011) and the inclusion among the eight sites that are part of the Geo-mining Park of Sardinia, is fully accessible and can be visited. There are 4 different itineraries that testify the mining took place from 1848 until 1991, from the luxurious Palace of the direction, up to the yards to the east, where there are the humble homes of miners, mills, foundries, the mineral deposits and the striking shipyard Piccalinna.
