Caption: Some people probably would not be that excited to see megaliths. But I’m sure when you see this site, you’ll be amazed. The ancient people who carved this stone in the first place surely knew where to put them. The sense of being in this far and remote place with such mysterious stones makes me believe that this place is truly magical.

Caption: The age, function or the purpose of these megaliths has still been a complete mystery. They say that even the stones are not the same type from this area of Sulawesi. Some of the stones are carved into human face and body, others look like animals or creatures. I do think that these megaliths deserve a proper research. It is a shame that most people never know that this magnificent place really exists.

Caption: Bada valley Prepare yourself for some heavy trekking to Bada valley. This wouldn’t be an easy journey and we were warned that we might spend the night in the forest because of the lengthy and winding path.

Caption: The biggest megalith found in the region Although the road condition is poor, the palindo/sepe megalith, fortunately, is accessible by car.
Caption: Palindo is probably 4 meters tall and like the other megaliths on Besoa and Bada, this one is also positioned in a picturesque prairie with mountain range and wide-open fields surrounding it.
