Caption: This story starts with a birthday, back on June 22, when Harris turned 8. I wanted us to do something different for his birthday - a different location, a different walk, new sniffs. So we drove to Perthshire for a favourite walk of ours at Loch Dunmore and Faskally Wood.

Caption: THINGS TO KNOW: This is a short and easy walk as there’s a path that extends all the way round the loch. There are a couple of picnic areas with benches - we had a picnic when we arrived - and toilets in the parking area. If, like us, you’re looking for a longer walk, you can head into Faskally Woods from here. Look out for that story coming soon. Pitlochry is the nearest town, but as we’re driving south anyway when heading home, we tend to stop off at Dunkeld instead and pop into The Scottish Deli.

Caption: We came back to the loch after our woodland walk and I took a few more photos. The light had been shifting throughout the day - it was a harsh, cool and moody light for June - and by late afternoon it was only getting moodier.
