Caption: "Throughout my studies at Texas State University I became fascinated with the use of cardboard as a medium. The long hours I spent staring at a computer screen created a need to find real world textures and materials that defy the digital perfection and redundancy that Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator create. Cardboard offered me a readily accessible material that I could find everywhere."

After creating a number of pieces in my new medium, I came to learn about Picasso’s early use of cardboard. Further investigation led me to the relief work of Frank Stella. I was drawn by Stella’s use of a limited color pallet, and simple lines to create images. However, it was not until my extensive travels through the West with my band that I found the pallet and style that called to me. " -Landry McMeans
