Date three
#kansascity Kansas City Rep and Winstead's drive-in
Caption: Holy smokes. With a wedding and a trip out of town, we hadn't been on a date for two weeks! And boy, were we ready for one. I knew it needed to be something epic and amazing and wonderful, yet relaxing all at the same time.
Enter "An Iliad".
Neither of us had ever been to the KC Rep, so I was a little hesitant to buy tickets. But my friends on facebook delivered some sound judgement and we decided to take the plunge. Worst case scenario we get a good laugh at a bad show, right? Nevertheless, we were still a little anxious...

Caption: Not knowing what to expect, we showed up early to see the preshow talk. Immediately we were impressed. This was not going to be amateur hour by any means!

Caption: Look. At. That. Set!!! The picture doesn't even do it justice.

Caption: The display in the lobby described some of the history surrounding the play. Did you know that the story of Homer's Iliad took place 500 years before the Greeks had a written language? For 500 years it was passed down from generation to generation!

Caption: The anticipation is building, we have an inkling that we are in for something awesome tonight.
Caption: While I was unable to take photos during the play, I can tell you that it was by far the most incredible and riveting show I have ever seen! We got to experience the Iliad the way ancient generations experienced it- told by a single story teller in the most passionate way. If you live in Kansas City, or are looking for an excuse for a trip, then you must go see "An Iliad."
We were left speechless. "Wow. Just wow" was about all I could come up with on facebook! So take the plunge and buy some tickets and go see the show! You'll be glad you did.

Caption: The play ended too late for us oldies to get a full meal, so we popped into Winstead's for my first experience of the steak burger and milkshake. YUM!

Caption: My favorite goofball. He constantly makes me laugh.
I love him!!

I can't wait to hear about your excursions and date nights! I hope this has inspired you. Seriously, go to the KC Rep! You'll be glad you did.
