Picture
Caption: On September 14th, 2014 a maid at the Sandos Finesterra in Cabo San Lucas Mexico came & put our patio furniture indoors...
what came next was an unbelievable catastrophe:
Category 3
Hurricane Odile.
Video
Caption: First came the sirens...
Followed by lightening, thunder
& flash flooding.
However,
I still don't think we knew what we were in for...

Caption: We watched as the plywood went up, finally beginning to clue in to the severity.
Picture
Caption: Small branches began to snap & fall as we were evacuated to another room for safety...
Video
Caption: 10 minutes before
our sliding glass door
was sucked out,
we grappled in the dark with the frightening horror we found ourselves in.
Picture
Caption: Just after the door blew out on the 8th floor, the curtains went next & we descended to the lobby during the eye of the storm. What came after you ask?
Too scary for words...other than
125 mile an hour sustained winds.
The powerful second half of the hurricane.

If I hadn't been evacuated earlier the previous day I'd have been sleeping in the path of destruction.
Or in other words,
Not much better off then the bird on the cover photo.

was just the beginning of a dream
vacation gone very wrong.
Stay tuned for part 3:
surviving the aftermath...
