Caption: During a relaxing afternoon after a busy morning - in which I nearly severed off my fingertip -, I found inspiration in a picture found on Pinterest. It was of an old man who looked to be the definition of happiness.
I'm not sure what the actual man's name is, but when I finished drawing him, he didn't seem to be 'Little Old Man' any more, but 'Frank'.
Enjoy!

Caption: At this point, I'd been drawing with a pulsing finger for 3 hours, and had come to the conclusion that 'Little Old Man' was finished. The next day, I compared my drawing to the picture I was basing it off of, and was sorely disappointed. So, I erased him. First his eyes, then - after redrawing them - his mouth, chin, ear, and eventually, forehead.

Caption: Before & After This is the before and after shot of the first time I 'finished' drawing him, and the second, final time.
The thing I love most about drawing is detail. And the details - to me - are the most important.
Most people will never, and would never, notice the things that were changed between these two pictures unless explained by me. There are so many tiny things that can distort how something looks, but there are very few who will be able to pin down what it is.
I'd like to hope I'm one of those people.
