Caption: FORTY TWO
Picture
Caption: Forty two was a week of big skies. It was a week of walks at the ash lagoons, noticing the details as autumn was creeping through the woods, the paths covered in fallen leaves. The views across the pond had changed as the greens had faded, and that glow of fresh buds that had appeared in spring felt like a very distant memory. You could feel nature retreating, preparing for the winter ahead.

Caption: I’ve written about this walk before, first through the woods at the lagoons, pausing at the pond, and then walking back along the sea wall with these views out over the Forth. I’m conscious of how calm such moments can look in photos, but they are so alive in reality - alive with the tide, with waves racing into shore. I’ll stand here at the sea wall, just watching the waves. Alive with the sound of wind, which is wild some days, and with the calls of the birds.

Caption: We closed the week with a walk at Yellowcraig. I’ve shared a video from this here already, taken from the dunes overlooking the beach. The sea was loud and the sky was moody, with this smudgy lilac hue hovering just above the Fife coastline in the distance. Beautiful.
