Caption: With no thermals to chase, Cathal, Dave, and myself picked a hill we'd not normally consider starting from. An easy walk from Loch Muick, we climbed through the snow-line into a pristine winter landscape.

Caption: Crossing the glen, a herd of deer eyed my movements above with caution; a privilege to see nature in ways no others can. Gravity always wins though, and so I chose a stretch of the loch's shore to touch down on, avoiding any bog lurking in the heather.
