Swimming in the ocean has always been a simple pleasure to me. The ocean finds a way to soothe, surprise, and scare me all in one. It commands respect; it abides by its own schedule; and its lines have no boundaries.
For being one of the richest environments on our planet, it hides its complexity with the simplicity of a single colour. It takes lives and it creates lives. When surfing or swimming in oceans Pacific, Atlantic, or Mediterranean, I have seen some of the most awe-inspiring things in my life. It never fails to heal.
In October 2014, Leila and I had a chance to take a quick trip and remind ourselves of the simple pleasures in life.
Goodbye skyscrapers, hello French Riviera.
