Caption: I've been watching this colony of burrowing owls for at least three years. The conditions under which they live, in urban environment, with strong human interference, is troubling.

Caption: Also, I noticed that their feeding habits are not consistent with the literature, and the constant presence of people, domestic dogs and vehicles in the vicinity of their burrows is a clear threat to their survival.

Caption: About me Paul Ojuara is a brazilian wildlife photographer and field biologist with a passion for wildlife conservation.
Ojuara lives in Northeastern Brazil, a region of huge contrasts, either social or climate related. The region has amazing pleasant beaches, just a few miles away from very dry, almost desertic inland.
The native fauna is mainly composed of small animals, but still has an incredible diversity. Marmosets, iguanas, all kind of birds, owls, snakes, raptors and hundreds of species of arthropods can surely make any wildlife photographer feel like in heaven.
It is important to note that all photographs on his website are of wild animals, free in their natural habitat. No type of bait or trap will ever be used in the photographs, and never any captive animal will be photographed nor such images published on this website. When shooting, Ojuara tries to minimally interfere in their lives.
