Caption: For my 22nd birthday, my girlfriend and I decided that we had earned some much needed rest & relaxation by ourselves. We hadn't been on camping trip in over a year, so it was fairly obvious how we were going to spend our Labor Day weekend.

Day One After spending our first night in the forest, our bodies needed the extra boost that only good coffee can provide. And honestly what is better than coffee over a campfire?

Day One When we finished eating breakfast and got our campsite situated, we then headed down the road in search of Sempervirens Falls. It's amazing how green the forestry still was even in the middle of this drought, but overall pleasant to see that parts of California are still flourishing.
Caption: The trail that takes you directly down into Sempervirens Falls is currently blocked to public access due to restoration. But I didn't take that for an answer.
I made sure to watch for Park Rangers as I hopped over the viewing platform and gently made my way down towards the creek. The view was a hundred times better up close just like I had presumed, and the image I captured was definitely worth the effort.

Fun Fact: everything tastes better when cooked over a controlled open flame in the middle of a forest.

Day Two When the light ducked behind the redwood trees and caught the smoke from our supper time campfire, magic happened.
