MADRID TIPS

MADRID TIPS 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸 Where to stay: Safe to say that Madrid is much smaller than London and taxis are a lot cheaper so you can move easily from one area to another by cab. Uber works here and we also have cabify which works even better. I would start with what I would personally avoid staying in: I would defo avoid the very centric area which is SOL! Pick pockets, loud, party at night, traffic…. I wouldn’t recommend staying here: AToch, Chamartin 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸

I would personally book a hotel in: 💥Barrio Salamanca. Kind of Chelsea bive. Residential and posh commercial area, Serrano is the main street) nice vibe but quite at night. Check it out I think you might like it. 💥Chamberi/ Alonso Martinez. Would probs be one of my top choice together with Justicia. 💥Justicia. Love it. Probably as posh as barrio de Salamanca but with a more actual and modern vibe. It is a very trending area shopping, restaurant and architectural wise 💥Las letras. Classic. Madrid´s Classic architecture buildings. Lively and trendy too. Love it too but buildings are old

PLANS: 💥 Visit the city centre. Go for a stroll from Las letras to la plaza Mayor and go to “ el Mercado de san Miguel” a popular nice food market designed by Eiffel. Have a beer and a quick bite to eat, watch out for the pick pockets. 💥 Visit “ el Madrid de los Austrias “this is the “ royal area”. Old classic architecture where you will find the Cathedral called La Almudena , the Opera, The Royal Palace and its garden. ( Jardines de Sabatini)

💥 On a Sunday if it is sunny I wouldn´t miss a walk through “ El rastro” a street market which has been on for years and years. You will see the most useless and random staff but if you stroll through the alleys you will find very cool antique shops. After that I would have a late lunch and some drinks in La Latina. Super lively and specially on Sundays at lunch time. Fav places in La Latina: Juana la Loca, Los huevos de Lucio ( famouse for los huevos rotos)

💥 Visit the roof top of El Circulo de Bellas Artes 💥 Visit el Bernabeu if you really are a football fan 💥 A walk through the park after having spent a morning shopping in Serrano. At the end of this street and right at the entrance of the park there is “La Puerta de Alcala” a monument. You can have breakfast or brunch whilst you stare at it in either Cappucino or Harina. 💥 Malasana is another neighborhood that I recommend visiting as an afternoon/evening plan. Walk through its streets, watch out for the balconies in any of its old buildings. Get in many of its hipster shops and enjoy a “bermut”, a glass of wine or a beer in any of their terraces.

A special night in Corral de la Moreria with El Yiyo, the new promise of flamenco dancing. IG @elyiy0
