United Nations

Art & Diplomacy

This year I had the honor of being appointed a Delegate to the United Nations 63rd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. These are some of the images I captured. The art displayed throughout the UN and the community celebrated within is magical.

Color explodes in various displays in the walls inside the United Nations

I listened to the English translation of a presentation in the large conference room as I waited for the Secretary General to arrive.

As we waited for the Secretary General we were lead in songs from our respective countries. This was a beautiful example of how the diverse community joined together in a common interest.

We finally shed this Session with the mantra and song, “We Shall Overcome”

We had an opportunity to ask the Secretary General how the United Nations was responding to important global issues concerning women.

We then traveled to the great General Assembly Hall. Magical!!

The sculpture garden adds to the grandeur of the United Nations campus.
