Kilruddery House & Gardens

County Wicklow, Ireland

To me Ireland is all about castles, fairies, magical landscapes, pubs, villages, and warm, wonderful people. You really can’t visit without seeing a few of these grand old estates like Kilruddery House. Built in 1618 and home to the Earls of Meath, 16 generations have lived in the house. Touring the house you see evidence of the family still in residence, from the bicycles out front to the piano practice books in the library.

You can’t take pictures in the house, but you are allowed in the beautiful Orangery.

The Kilruddery House has been used in many films and shows, including The Tudors and the yet-to-be-released “Turning” from Steven Spielberg
