PART ONE

There’s something about the start of a new month - you want to embrace it. June came round fast. Too fast, as it doesn’t feel like summer. So on June 1, we decided to have a longer day away and drove to Elie in Fife for one of our favourite coastal walks.

Saturday 1 June

We arrived to find this brooding sky and this calm but moody sea. After a long drive, we needed some food before our walk, so we found a picnic bench and took in this view.

A few people were water skiing and paddle boarding in the bay, with only the drone of the boat engine breaking the calm.

One of my favourite views, looking towards Elie Ness Lighthouse at Ruby Bay.

We followed the coastal path past the lighthouse towards Lady’s Tower, and on in the direction of St Monans.

Well hello to you too.

We paused at a bench to take in the view. If you’re feeling energetic, this can be a long walk to St Monans and on to Pittenweem. We weren’t planning to go that far though - we wanted to walk back along the beach.
