at Gus O’Connor’s
Near the Cliffs of Moher in the town of Doolin, Gus O’Connor’s is a pub known to many far and wide. On the day we stopped by, locals Charles Monod and Christy Barry of Doolin Music House graced us with a bit of Trad Music that made for a pub experience which I will not be soon forgetting.
You can also hear Christy for longer sets at his Doolin Music House.
I really enjoyed my Bangers n Mash, the pint of Guinness and my takeaway Irish Coffee which kept me nice & warm at the Cliffs later on. Thank you for hosting me O’Connor’s!
Walk around the pub with your pint and see if you can spot memorabilia from your home state or country, left behind by visitors before you. I found this license plate from Vermont, the state I was born and raised in.
you’re done eating...
The food at Gus O’Connor’s is typical pub fare for rural Ireland - though on the top end of the spectrum and worth the stop in and of itself - and the staff are fantastic. When you arrive, pick a table, peruse the menu. Then when you’re ready, you order at the bar and tell them your table number. Don’t forget an Irish Coffee for the road - if you’re not the one driving, that is 😉
