Esperance is an amazing little beach side town on the south coast of Western Australia. It is home to some of the most amazing coastline and beaches you’ve ever seen.
Firstly check out this accomodation, so cute right? www.esperancechaletvillage.com.au
Lets begin with the 40km Great Ocean scenic drive, absolutely incredible. There are 8 main beaches to stop at on this drive, each one is just as amazing as the last: 1. West Beach 2. Blue Haven 3. Salmon Beach 4. Fourth Beach 5. Twilight Beach 6. Nine Mile Beach 7. Ten Mile Lagoon 8. Eleven Mile Beach
Blue Haven Beach 😍 (look at that water) this was my favourite beach.
And those unforgettable sunsets
And let me show you what else you can see while driving along this epic coast.......
So many dolphins 😱😱😱
Next stop is Cape Le Grand National Park
Cape Le Grand NP is home to the famous Lucky Bay Beach where kangaroos sunbake on the beach 🥰
There is even a coffee van on the beach daily to grab a snack/drink.
No visit to this region is complete without a flight over the amazing pink lake. Lake Hillier located on Middle Island which is part of the Recherche Archipelago of the coast of Esperance
The reason of its unique colour is still a topic that is not fully understood by scientists, although most suspect it has to do with the presence of the Dunaliella salina microalgae. The Dunaliella produces carotenoids, a pigment found in carrots as well. But the presence of halophilic bacteria in the salt crusts could be another explanation. A reaction between the salt and the sodium bicarbonate that is found in the water may cause it as well.
