paradise in the South Pacific

A touch of Samoa

Samoa is considered the heart of Polynesia. It has a 3000 year-old way of life called Fa'a Samoa that underpins a memorable visitor experience. Samoa is a postcard of natural beauty consisting of ten islands, each offering very distinct and different environments to explore. Blessed with stunning land, seascapes and friendly people who are proud of their country, here is a little story about one of the islands, Upolu.

First stop is my hotel, Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa... how’s this for a view from my bed 😱

Most of the hotels on the island offer a Fia Fia night which is a celebration of the Samoan culture through song dance and fire.

After an amazing night sleep listening to the waves crash outside my waterside bungalow I started the day with a snorkel on the reef at the resort ☺️.....

Wouldn’t you if the water looked this amazing?

Now it’s time to head out and explore this amazing island....

Sunday mornings

Sunday’s are family day in Samoa, the streets are filled with locals dressed in white, walking to church and the smell of food cooking fills the air as they end the day with a big family feast.

Driving around the island makes me think I’m in Jurassic Park 🤭

To-Sua Ocean Trench is a must see. The tench is literally a giant ocean fed swimming hole. It’s seriously magical. It’s 30 metres into the ground before you even touch the water 😱 I was mind blown 🤯

A short stop on the side of the road for another little swim, seriously look how amazing this water is 😍

There are also loads of waterfalls dotted over the island and I was in search of a particularly beautiful one..... Sopoaga Falls....

The rest of the day was spend exploring this amazing island.

And meeting the friendly locals and learning about their traditional ways of life.

Fresh coconut cocktail! A must when you’re on a tropical island and the sun is about to set.

Ending the day with this 🥰
