Book Ten: A biography bracelet

A Charmed Life

Write your story in silver. Every charm conceptualizes a memory.

What do you remember about you?

In the beginning ... childhood.

Happy Birthday. The cake opens to a candle. Childhood begins.

The tiny cactus on my window sill. The mailbox: letters to friends.

Tricycles, skates, scooters, bicycles— The clock ticks, times passes and the telephone becomes a lifeline.

A pencil, that writes. An eraser for all my mistakes.

An “I Love You” spinner and the ice cream cart.

This train with moving parts represents the NYC subway.

Every weekend we took the subway to Brighton Beach, in Brooklyn, New York. It was what we could afford.

I always wanted a piano.

I also wanted a cat. This piano HAS a cat!

A seahorse at the beach ... a book.

... a worm in my book!

Television in the 1950s and 1960s was fabulous.

The TV opens to a television camera.

For art, a palette. For photography, a camera.

Open the camera, “Watch the birdie!”

For love letters.

Everything was changing. Especially music.

A phonograph for my 45, 33, and 78 rpm records. It was a world of vinyl.

The end of an era.
