Can you believe #MatExp is only 4yrs old! To celebrate I thought I’d take a short trip turning back the years Remember it all started at Kingston, with the very first Whose Shoes Maternity workshop ! Gill had the foresight that we needed a #
Bringing everyone to the table as equals , talking respectfully to one another having solution focused conversations & pledging action 💥
Anna’s colourful graphics were an immediate hit!
It’s incredible what we have achieved together,
We wanted to spark a conversation & generate energy, we certainly feel we have done that ✅it’s fantastic how #MatExp has taken off

& Our material has spread through fifty organisations & as far as Uganda! 🌍
Everywhere we go we are trying to build connections
We’ve held workshops with specific topics...
Many & varied
Those working on reducing smoking in pregnancy,
& looking at what happens when you have a baby with Down’s syndrome, how we often negatively frame information
& what about future midwives (Students,)
We’ve run projects to develop more rounded joined up care
Most of all we’ve had fun connecting a huge number of people from all sorts of backgrounds with a common purpose
So we really hope that with your help we have made a positive contribution
towards the national ambition for Safe & Personalised care
Today our birthday we are celebrating the only way we know how .. a workshop in Nottingham & a postnatal London meeting at Kingston
