Un Pueblo Mágico
The Pueblo Mágico, or “Magic Town”, of Bacalar lies at the Southern Tip of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. The town is a short 30 minute ride to the Northern border of Belize in which the area is surrounded with a rich history. Not only is Bacalar fully immersed in culture, it offers some stunning views
Bacalar is most famous for its picturesque fresh water lagoon, “La Laguna de Los Siete Colores”, or Lagoon of seven colors
The best way to enjoy and explore these bright and vibrant blue waters is by kayaking
A journey through the “Pirates Canal” is a must
It is said that this is the canal where Pirates were seen entering the lagoon before battling with the Spanish whom controlled the town at the time
Speaking of the canal, it is the top tourist destination of Bacalar
Pirates cannot be talked about in Bacalar without mentioning the Spanish. This fort was built to keep the Pirates away from causing chaos in the town
Another popular spot in Bacalar is Cenote Azul. This cenote is one of the deepest in the entire Peninsula and is the perfect spot to go for a swim or some diving
While Bacalar is a great destination to explore and learn about some unique history, it is also a superb place to relax
Sunrise is the perfect time to enjoy the view
How about that water?
There are plenty of docks to take in the views
If you’re looking for a place to stay, look no further then Bluebird Bacalar. This “glamping” site has one of the best locations in town and it’s Cabañas are cozy
Put Bacalar on your list of places to go. This budget location is the perfect place for all things adventure and relaxation!!!
