Press tour in Turin #foodsteller
I attended a press tour in Turin last week end during Festival of food journalism and i discovered some 'Maestri del gusto' I never met before. Follow me!
Press tour starts from Cibrario street which is located in San Donato, a well known chocolate district in Turin. In XIX century Talmone and Caffarel invented 'Gianduiotto' famous chocolate in Balbis street.
The 1st step is Avetta, a bakery born in 1930 where we taste a wonderful 'focaccia'.
The 2nd step is a butcher's shop, Macelleria Giampaolo Crü where you can taste 'meat sushi'.
The 3rd step is at Piazza dei Mestieri, a school of crafts where we taste chocolate and beer.
The 4th step is an ice-cream shop, La Tosca, where we taste 'grana ice-cream' made of parmesan cheese.
After the tour we go to Eataly, an Italian store in Lingotto, where we have a wonderful lunch offered by restaurant Casa Vicina.
Eataly’s first store was opened in Turin in 2007. [...] The brand EATALY is the combination of two English words: EAT and ITALY. [...] Eataly’s brand was born by aggregating a number of small companies operating in the food and wine compartment. (by https://www.eataly.net/it_it/)
