a chocolate+peanut butter delight
AKA: Kisses Peanut Butter Blossoms Chocolate and peanut butter are yummy apart... but this classic cookie pairs them beautifully! My kiddos love putting the chocolates on after baking but they love eating them even more! Try them! I’m sure they’ll be loved by your family too!
1 bag Hershey’s Kisses 1/2 cup shortening 3/4 cup peanut butter 1/3 cup white sugar 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar 1 egg 2 Tbsp. milk 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp Baking Soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/3 cup white sugar for rolling
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Remove wrapping from about 40 chocolates.
Cream together shortening and peanut butter until smooth.
Add 1/3 cup white sugar and brown sugar. Beat until fluffy.
Add milk, egg, and vanilla. Beat well.
In separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add flour mixture to peanut butter mixture. Mix well.
Scoop dough with small cookie scoop. Shape dough into balls and roll in white sugar to coat.
Place coated dough balls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10min.
Immediately after baking press a chocolate into the center of each cookie.
Move cookies to wire rack to cool completely.
