| HIGH COUNTRY VICTORIA |
Now that I’ve got your attention I have LOADS of awesome photos to share from an unexpectedly amazing trip to High Country Victoria. Why unexpected? Well I usually ski in this region and I wondered what the summer season could possibly offer me that’s better than skiing ... All. The. Things.
Our first stop was Falls Creek, about a 4 1/2 hour drive from Melbourne airport and normally a ski resort. I LOVED seeing it with different eyes. 👀
There’s so much to do and hardly any other people around! Unfortunately (or fortunately for me 😂😂) I don’t have the behind the scenes shots on my camera roll anymore so I can’t share. I guess you’ll just have to look at all the pretty things and imagine all the hilarity going on behind them. This was my favorite series -
I was mucking around shooting the wildflowers when the light got CRAZY! I was screaming - “lightning, sun, wildflowers, rainbow, sun” 🌩☀️🌸🌈☀️
Oh, I forgot to tell you, I was with @jewelszee 💃🏼💃🏼 So, apart from taking photos in the best light we’ve ever seen in our life, we also found time to explore the surrounding area, try our hand at mountain biking (🙊🚴🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️😂), check out some short hikes and contemplate kayaking. 🤔🚣🏼♀️
BRIGHT & SURROUNDS
After departing Falls Creek we made our way to Bright and surrounding areas for MORE FUN! It should be illegal to have this much fun when you’re working.
Bright is becoming increasingly popular with Melbourne locals for their excellent food scene and surrounds. Also in the region is Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain and now I’m VERY happy I don’t have my behind the scenes shots because Jewels and I got super tipsy at Blizzard Brewery Dinner Plain before checking out the famous ‘Razorback.’
Despite getting rained out we still managed to capture some pics of this incredible hike, just five minutes from Mount Hotham village.
There’s so many hidden gems in these mountains and hills and you’ll feel like you’re the first to discover them if you visit in Spring and Summer. Also, don’t even get me started on the food. 😩😩 Ginger Baker in Bright, the Wandi Pub in Wandiligong and Element in Dinner Plain to name a few. 😍👅🍒
BEECHWORTH & SURROUNDS
I have a spare tyre around my waste that I will always treasure and remember Beechworth by. The FOOD. The WINE. I die! 😩😩
Not pictured (because BTS shots didn’t sync 😩) is food and wine experiences at Gapsted Wines, Jones Winery and Lake Moodemere Estate Rutherglen. I literally left the High Country with 4 bottles of wine and happily paid for excess luggage to bring them home to be part of the family. 😂🍷
And let’s not forget Tolpuddle Goat Farm in Wangaratta. 😍😍😍
There are honestly too many amazing people and places to thank but if you want tips on accommodation or food or wine or things to do then please reach out! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 email@example.com And here’s the official tourism board Instagram accounts ...
