Life of an equestrian groom: Part 7

This month started with me going to Chepstow with Mary for Billy to complete his NRF and Bobby in the IN. While Em went to Great Witchingham with Zara for the final European selection and Currant to do the OI. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be for Em and Zara and were, therefore, not selected for the YR Europeans. Mary on the other-hand qualified Billy for the Novice Championships at Gatcombe!! We then moved on to Barbury International with a full lorry of Dre, Currant, Zara, Billy, Bobby and Joey. Dre competed in the ERM, Currant, Zara, Billy and Bobby in the CIC** and Joey in the ON. Barbury was such a fantastic event! The whole week was so enjoyable meeting so many wonderful new people and making unreal memories! The last event of the month was Wilton where all the horses competed for the young horses to blow away cobwebs after their break and the others to have an easier, confidence giving run.

Smart Grooming came out to do a photo shoot with Mary and Quinn. I just love using their products for turning the horses out for competitions!

Our international event this month was Barbury with a full lorry of 6 horses! Although I was obviously kept busy with 6, I still had an unreal time. The atmosphere (and amount of kit needed) at stay aways is just insane!

Zaz won the CIC** at Barbury!!! 🥇🏆

Billy and Bobby both completed their first ever CIC** at Barbury! They were both such superstars for their first go at the level.

We had 3 new arrivals at Team King this month too! Meet Clearwater Bay (Bay - twin to Fern), King's Belief (Barry - King's Temptess x Cevin Z) and Clearwater Magnolia (Maggie - Walitze F Vejgard x Jaguar Mail)!

Next month will see the updates from the Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe and Blair!! Both events are the next legs of the Event Rider Masters series for Em and Dre. We may even have the last of the 5 foals born this month so watch this space! Fingers crossed this month is a successful one!! Ta ta for now 🤘🏻
