into the Grand Canyon & Death Valley

Our journey brought us back to the Grand Canyon, this time to the less developed north rim. Where we scraped ice from our tents on the south rim a mere two weeks prior we endured scorching temperatures in the low 40s as we hiked down the canyon. A two day trek took us all the way down to the Colorado river, leaving a steep climb back to the rim. Our next stop took us below sea level, to allegedly the lowest, hottest and driest place in North America: Death Valley. Highest recorded temperature in Death Valley: 56 degrees celsius
