If I could choose two words to describe February they would be 'breezy' and 'cold'. Make that 'really, really windy' and 'freezing cold'. Cue windy beach walks. Cue woodland walks with damp leaves underpaw. February was also about snood stylin'. Who doesn't love a snood? Especially when it's been handmade for you by your Canadian pal Gryffin's Mum Kerry.

My friend @hectorpickleton's πŸ™‹πŸ»@girlaboutgarden bought my πŸ™‹πŸ» this lovely throw by Romney Marsh Wools. Naturally, I claimed it straight away.

There was a bit of neckerchief styling too. Who doesn't love a neckerchief? Specifically a Camo Pom Pom bandana complete with orange pom pom.

or paisley, a gift from my buddy Albert

Or how about a pop of orange and navy from my pal @Fonz_ Yes, I have the best pals. Seriously. This Tile Rider bandana is from HOUNDWORTHY. πŸ’₯

I hung out with my pal Archie

and with Grannie

And in the middle of February we had a last minute break. πŸ‘¨πŸ» took a few days off work and we booked a wee cottage in a village called Norham just across the border in the very north of England. We'd hoped for Iots of big walks, but it rained and rained, and we had howling gales. But we're tough, right? We had a few freezing cold beach walks at Norham By The Sea and Bamburgh.

πŸ™‹πŸ» got a year older when we were away, so πŸ‘¨πŸ»and I took her for a birthday beach walk. She was really excited.

We visited this amazing bookshop called Barter Books in Alnwick. Created in a former railway station, the bookshop includes a model railway and gigantic murals.

we stopped off at the Union Bridge

The Union Bridge - also known as the Chain Bridge - spans the border between Scotland and England - the side behind us in the previous photo is Scotland. The bridge was opened in 1820, at which point this was the longest wrought iron suspension bridge in the world with a span of 137 metres.

back in Scotland, at Aberdour Castle

and North Berwick

and that was my February...

Thank you for reading! Until next month then, when I hope to be sharing lots of spring time moments... 🌿

  • greyctbird

I haven't even opened this yet, BUT, Harris' face to too cute on the cover! He's like, you silly humans!! I'm FREEZING here 😍

  • greyctbird

I LOVE this month. You have to be the best dressed doggie in all of the British Isles.

  • _bearista

Looking good in a snood! (And freezing! Wow!)

  • coppernotes

@rachelstravels Yeah, sooooo many cold walks! Thank goodness for dachshund sizes fleeces! πŸ™ˆ

  • coppernotes

@greyctbird Loved that first comment - that cover shot was taken on the coldest walk. The COLDEST! We'd intended to have a longer walk but we reached a point where we were just too cold! The wind was bitter. It was a good month though.. ☺️ (and yeah, he's better dressed than I am! Much!)

  • coppernotes

@_bearista It really was cold - so so many freezing cold walks in this month! The snood is good right? So kind of our friend to make and send this ☺️

You can just see his shoulders hunched and pulling his neck in - his face is SO expressive!

  • coppernotes

He certainly is @greyctbird - H just looks at me and I know what he's thinking!

  • Leontine

Finally! I expect this story to Harris, but also for Scottish landscapes that you make me discover. Although the cold air does not attract me. Harris is always more elegant and sure of his being a protagonist. 🐢❀

  • coppernotes

Hello @leontine and yes, this was a particularly raw and wind-blasted month. But thank you! Harris manages to look elegant whatever the weather - unlike his humans! πŸ˜‚
