Lake Powell 2016
Lake Powell is a reservoir on the Colorado River, straddling the border between Utah and Arizona (most of it, along with Rainbow Bridge, is in Utah). It is the second largest man-made reservoir by maximum water capacity in the US. Although the dam was made by man you can't help but stop to give glory to God for the surroundings and creation among you.
The reservoir is named for explorer John Wesley Powell, a one-armed American Civil War veteran who explored the river via three wooden boats in 1869. In 1972, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area was established. It is public land managed by the National Park Service, and available to the public for recreational purposes.
This natural wonder nestlesi among canyons carved by streams route to the Colorado River from Navajo Mountain's north flank. 6 different tribes surround the monument among then are Navajo, Ute, Paiute.
The world's largest natural bridge, is considered a sacred place by the Navajo Indians, for whom personified rainbows have stood as guardians of the universe. As for us ~ “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11, Colossians 1:16-17, John 1:3-4. 🙏🏼
