a journey to the heart of Islam, to the hearts of ours

HAJJ

Dear our beloved mother, father and children, our sincere apology before we take this journey to return to Allah

The Hajj

is a journey, physical and spiritual, that pilgrims from the furthest reaches of the Islamic world have made responding to God’s call. Much reflection and preparation is needed for traversing the paths to the heart of Islam

It was midnight already when we arrived in Medina

(HR. Bukhari, no. 1196 dan Muslim, no. 1391) Taman surga, Raudhatul Jannah...rindu kami padamu Ya Rasul, untuk berjumpa denganmu lagi. Assalaamu 'alaika ya Rasulullah

The journey brings a message to remind us that Allah is the Greatest and how grateful we are for His countless blesses

Rain wiped the storm away

Rain accompanied our journey from Medina to Mecca

Ya Allah, Ya 'Aliim... Verily God holds the heaven and earth in position lest they deviate. And if they deviated there will be none to hold them in place, apart from Him He is sagacious and forgiving. (QS. Fathir: 41)

Kaaba is only a cornerstone, a sign to show the road. "And unto Allah is the journeying"

QS An Noor: 42

Put your Ihram on

At Miqat, regardless of your race or tribe, social status, you must doff all the covers you wore in your daily life. Leave them all in Miqat, assume your original shape as a 'man'. Wrap yourself in two piece of white cloth

Thawaf is like a roaring river circling around the stone, Kaaba is surrounded by a crowd of highly excited people. It is like a sun in the center while people are like stars travelling in their orbit of the solar system. Centrally positioned, the people move around it in circular system. Kaaba symbolizes the constancy and eternity of Allah

Sa'i literally means to struggle, to try one's best, to make effort. Abraham left Hajar and Ismail in a valley between Shafa and Marwa hills. She started running here and there in search of water for her son. To her astonishment, the child who was left under the umbrella of 'love' by miracle, by the power of needs and the mercy of Allah, there was a sweet and life-giving fountain of water flowing from stone. It was zamzam!

We met an old couple from Iraq who just rest inside the Holy Mosque, near the sa'i lane. We were carefully moved so they wont get disturbed. Before the adzan called, they woke up as we recited Quran. Suddenly they asked us to recite a verse of Maryam, then they smiled. Then we stood up for Friday pray together. Before we said goodbye, the wife gave me some foods also a warm kiss on my forehead

The beauty of brotherhood and sisterhood

Then, there was crane accident due to hard storm.... We surely belong to Allah and to Him we shall return

The hajj begins when you leave Kabah

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لاَشَرِيْكَ لَكَ “Here I am at Your service O Allah, here I am. Here I am at Your service, You have no partner, here I am at Your service. For You alone is All Praise and All Grace, and for You alone is The Sovereignty. You have no partner.”

In returning to Allah, go from Mecca to Arafat, Mashar and Mina. Allah Himself has already given them their heavenly names; Arafat means knowledge and science Mashar means consciousness and understanding Mina means love and faith

When the sun is disappering in Arafat

It was Sept. 24, 2015, the third morning of the hajj, the annual five-day pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, by millions of Muslims from around the world. By some estimates, it was the deadliest day in hajj history and one of the worst accidents in the world in decades

There were thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. They were of all colors, from blue-eyed blondes to black-skinned Africans. But we were participating in the same ritual, displaying a spirit of unity and brotherhood

We gratefully thank Allah
