BAKING with Toddler

Almond Cookies

Today my 2 years 7 months old boy and I went baking. This is actually our first baking together (not just he watch me bake). We baked an easy peasy recipe for Almond Cookies.

Preparation : Glaze the baking tray with butter and sprinkle some flour onto it. Preheat oven to 160 degree celsius

The Ingredients : - 160gr Unsalted Butter (fridge temperature, roughly chopped into square) - 50gr brown sugar - 20gr granulated sugar - 1/2 tsp vanilla paste - 160gr all purpose flour - 50gr almond (roughly chopped) - 30 gr chocolate chips (you can also use chocolate sprinkles or raisins)

1. Mix together the sugars, butter, and vanilla paste. Make sure not to over-melt the butter as you mix it. Keep the batter a bit stiff but still ok to mold.

This kid really couldn't help keeping his hands off the brown sugar :)

Also from the chocolate sprinkles

2. Add flour and almond then mix it well with spatula.

3. Add some chocolate sprinkles and chips

4. Lay and mold!

We did sing and play guessing the alphabet game in between. Such a fun baking. Don't sweat the mess, as it is the art of baking with toddler. Just enjoy the flow :)

5. Put in the oven for 15-20 minutes

Tadaaaa!

Let them clean up the mess 😁

Happy baking! ;) Instagram @phorula
