RANDOM SKETCH BUILDINGS
THE FIRST TIMER
These recent days I've been trying a new activity: sketching. I was once fired up after seeing several people's sketches that I thought, "Hey, I must try this stuff!"
At first, I used to draw with pencil only. I do not pay much attention to any other tools. However, after sometime, I decided to use another medium: pen. I did hesitate when it comes to drawing or sketching. I used to believe that my work is not good enough to see. But, is it a gift to be able to do that? I believe, no. It can be learned.
THAT'S WHY, AGAINST MY INFERIORITY TOWARD MY SENSE OF ART, I FINALLY TRIED
This was my very first sketch using drawing pen. I sketched a building next to my campus from 3rd floor balcony. Due to my lack of "proper perspective" I used ruler much to help me the that time.
My second trial. I still found it hard to get the right perspective when it comes to sketch buildings.
In fact, I really wanted to draw such European style buildings. But it was very difficult to draw such a detailed architecture style. Then I began to search in YouTube looking for some tutorials. I ended up trying with one new media: watercolor.
I found it really helping when I want to have some shading using watercolor instead of pen only. On the next pages, some of my recent works are.
London Phone Booth
Big Ben, London
Tower Bridge, London
Even though my works are terrible, deep down I was enjoying my sketching time. It makes me focus on one thing and in the future I will try harder to make improvements.
Without art, 'earth' is just an 'eh'.
