THE IDEA BEHIND

C HOUSE

If you live in Jakarta, you might have known a housing estate named ozone residence which located in Veteran street – South Jakarta

Ozone residence is an ordinary housing. But there is a difference from other housing: The architects who contributed on the project.

Starting from URBANE as the master planner (yes, Ridwan Kamil’s company before he later became mayor of Bandung),

There are Andra Matin Architect,

Gregorius Supie from D-associates,

Antony Liu & Ferry Ridwan from Studio Tonton,

And.. Me from DFORM.

C-HOUSE

C-House is a additional type for Ozone Residence. The developer came to us and gave a very simple brief: Create a home that the shape and concept is not inferior to other types but can be more effective in cost.

Yeah. As an architect who has experience working on a developer for several years, actually I can understand their intentions. With the high cost of construction from the other types, it directly affected the selling price increase. Which means, it can reduced buyer interest. So with adding a new type of house that can be sold cheaper, they hope to catch the market.

"CREATE A HOME THAT THE SHAPE AND CONCEPT IS NOT INFERIOR TO OTHER TYPES BUT CAN BE MORE EFFECTIVE IN COST"

The Developer

Okay, the first idea that straight in my mind is: GRID SYSTEM. Yes, using a grid system is the most effective way to maximise the use of space. Structurally, this system can also reduce the use of beams and columns. Which means, the cost will be reduced. :D

I divide this house into two zones: private (bedroom, bathroom, etc) on the right, and the public (living, dining, etc) on the other side.

On the upper floor, I tried to extend one of the child's bedroom so that guests who were on the porch out of the rain while waiting for the owner opened the door.

Because the house will be duplicated, I ‘cut’ the wall on the right & left of this building so light can enter and leave the impression: there is a distance between buildings.

And here's the results.

Here comes the animation..
