Caption: I feel like I've found out and learnt so many more things since my preliminary. This includes knowledge of theories that I can apply to media clips. This has helped me put more context into my main thriller(even though I could have used more). It's also allowed me to think about what conventions I should use and shouldn't. For example, We used a wood so the audience could decrypt the genre but we also used women as being powerful, as well as vulnerable.

Caption: I have also learnt so many things physically, in the way I've filmed and edited. The first thing I've learnt is that to acheive continuity, it's better to do longer takes over a short number of days than short takes over more days. We did more days in our preliminary and had a continuity error with Hyleana's shoes. We avoided this problem by filming everything on the same day (which we weren't expecting).

Caption: The editing skills in the preliminary were limited and basic. The only thing that I did was cut and place clips together with sound. There were no effects or filters added. I've had more time to focus on my thriller however, and have researched different things that can be added so it looks more professional.

Caption: In the preliminary we were one of the only groups to use titles. These were basic and black that just faded in/out. I had some stylist influences for the main task that showed the genre a lot better and seletedly picked out a suitable font that was a little worn out and went with the theme.

Caption: Also in the preliminary we did well to have steady shots. We decided to stray a little from having all steady shots and instead have some slightly wobbly ones in the real one. This was done to create a sense of instability; which reflects our villains character.

Caption: The sound worked well in the first task. Therefore, in the main task we decided to use the same software that we had before (mixcraft5). In contrast, we had more diegetic sounds with what was happening on screen e.g. the sound of wind when the leaf blows. We also added non diegetic sounds like the car alarm. We did this to to make the audience more alert and to add to the genre of the film. It made the thriller look more emphasised and dramatic.
