ABANDONED

Buchanan Castle

Buchanan castle is an abandoned country house in Scotland near Drymen. It was originally built in the 17th century but it burned down in 1850. The present castle was built in 1854 and hasn't been in use since 1954 when the roof was removed.

We could not resist the temptation to have a look inside. Even though it was prohibited to enter the castle... 👀 Have a look with us!

In the 1930s the house was used as a hotel and the golf court, which is still in use, was constructed.

In it's last years, during the WW II, it was used as a military hospital.

Corners

The castle is larger on the inside then you would suspect from the outside. Every turn around the corner is a new exciting adventure!

There have been reports of a weird noises in the castle. Grunts and screams.

Researchers found out it came from owls nests in the turrets and not a ghost. (Fortunately!)
