At the end of December 2015 I travelled to Istanbul to test the new Leica SL camera. My friend Sarah came along and assisted with the reflector. We stayed at the 5 star St Regis Hotel in the upmarket Nisantasi district. Part of the Starwood group, the hotel's high levels of service included a complimentary butler service!
I can definitely recommend this hotel, the staff were superb...

Caption: The SL is Leica's latest flagship 35mm digital camera. It's also their first camera in many years which uses autofocus lenses.
On this trip I used it with my manual focusing M mount lenses.
I will write up a full hands on review in due course and post it on my blog here. But for the moment I can confirm this is the best camera I have ever used with Leica M lenses.
In addition to photographing a local model and exploring some great parts of the city, we visited the amazing Blue Mosque
